Desafios e potencialidades para a implantação do turismo cooperativo como ferramenta de viabilização das RPPNs de Ilhéus (BA, Brasil)

The Private Reserves of the Natural Heritage (RPPNs) of the Ilheus Municipality (BA, Brazil)
exert a strong attractiveness, though in their majority they do not have the infrastructure to receive tourists. Because there is no economic support from government agencies they need and wish to seek in tourism their economic viability. This study comprises a research with RPPN owners and directors of institutions that are linked to tourism, with the aim of briefly assessing the difficulties and potentials that occur, so that tourism can become a regional option. We defend the importance of partnerships based on a culture of cooperation among RPPNs, public sector, cooperatives and financial institutions, enhancing the economic sustainability of the regional tourism trade.
