Turismo Rural Comunitario y organización colectiva: un enfoque comparativo en México

Este artículo analiza, con un enfoque comparativo, los procesos ocurridos en la construcción de iniciativas de Turismo Rural Comunitario (TRC), así como en el manejo actual de las mismas, a través de la percepción de los actores involucrados, consolidada por observaciones y resultados obtenidos en trabajo de campo. La investigación se centró en cuatro iniciativas de TRC en México y utilizó una metodología cualitativa y participativa. Pudimos identificar elementos claves, algunos similares, otros propios a cada proceso, que influyeron de manera positiva y negativa en las iniciativas. Así mismo, la investigación mostró las relaciones existentes entre los procesos de construcción de las iniciativas y su fase actual, resaltando la importancia de la participación local, de la cohesión social y del capital social comunitario como factores claves del éxito de las iniciativas de TRC.

Abstract: This paper is a comparative study of the processes that took place in the construction of community-based rural tourism (CBRT) initiatives and their actual management through the perceptions of stakeholders, based on observation and results obtained during fieldwork. The research focused of four CBRT initiatives in Mexico and used a qualitative and participatory methodology. We were able to identify some key aspects that positively and negatively influenced the tourism initiatives, some of which are common and others specific to each process. Additionally, the research showed the relationship between the construction process of the initiatives and their actual management, highlighting the importance of local participation, social cohesion and community social capital as key factors of success for CBRT.
